CPIA Legislative Actions
Legislative Committee
The CPIA Board of Directors has a very active legislative committee that tracks both national and state issues that affect our members. Because of the diverse nature of CPIA members, where some members may be harmed by legislation that helps others, CPIA focuses on alerting members when issues are active and encourages participation, and on making sure legislators keep the big issues in mind.
2009 Issues
At the national level, there are quite a few issues affecting CPIA members this year, including:

Patent Reform
Funding for Research
Health Care
Because of the number of issues that will affect the small, high technology businesses that are at the heart of the photonics industry, this year CPIA sent a letter to all Colorado Representatives and Senators in Washington, DC.
