Salary: $75,000-$95,000 based upon education, work experience, and skills

Position Summary

Vescent seeks a versatile Manufacturing Cost Accountant to join our Administration team. The right candidate must have a head for numbers and a working understanding of different techniques used to evaluate product costs. This candidate will need to know how to analyze the existing cost accounting system, locate discrepancies in current setup and make recommendations to improve the functionality. Thereafter will be responsible for managing a standard GAAP Cost Accounting system. This candidate will be highly self-motivated, very detail oriented, demonstrate great initiative in problem solving, enjoy learning new skills and communicating effectively across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

·      Calculating and tracking the costs of goods sold, including labor, material, and overhead production costs

·      Monitor inventory movements to ensure accuracy of inventory balances and cost of goods sold (COGS)

·      Collaborate with operations and supply chain (purchasing, material control, engineering, etc.) teams to improve inventory costing and BOM accuracy

·      Analyzing changes in product offerings to determine their effect on cost

·      Participate in the calculation of new product costs

·      Performing the monthly closing activities, including the preparation of manufacturing variances along with supporting analysis

·      Constructing and monitoring data accumulation systems needed to provide an appropriate level of costing information to management

 

Required Qualifications

·      Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or another related field

·     Full understanding of GAAP compliance – CPA preferred

·     Work experience: >3 years cost accounting experience in a High-Tech manufacturing environment

·     Demonstrated ability to take ownership of a vital function

·     Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·     Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

·     Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

Desirable Additional Skills

·     In-depth knowledge of Manufacturing Cost Accounting

·     Understanding of organizational accounting concepts

·     ERP manufacturing experience, preferably ACUMATICA

·     Familiarity with Government DCAA accounting principles

·     Great ability to analyze and understand the interaction of modules in a complex ERP system

·     Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft applications

·     Ability to seek out solutions to problems
