Student Poster Contest:
The annual meeting is an opportunity to learn about current photonics and optics research conducted at ALL Colorado research universities. Talented graduate students competed for cash prizes with posters presenting their research topic. Out of 22 students competing in the poster contest, three top winners received $250 and two honorable mentions were awarded as well. The winner, Jonathan Barolak from Colorado School of Mines, presented on “Development of Wavelength Multiplexed Single Shot Ptychography.

Recognition
This year’s winner of CPIA’s “Photonics Company of the Year” award, MBio Diagnostics, achieved distinction in the industry and contributed to the photonics economy in Colorado. Chris Myatt, Ph.D., CEO and Founder of MBio, accepted the award and shared advice with the students about the establishing of this outstanding medical instrumentation company.
ColdQuanta was this year’s winner of “Photonics Innovator of the Year” for their outstanding work in commercializing quantum atomics, the next wave of the information age. Accepting the award was Dana Anderson, Ph.D., CEO and Founder of ColdQuanta.
Also honored at this year’s CPIA Annual Meeting, was Adams County Economic Development, for their many years of service and support to CPIA. Accepting the award was Gary Horvath who then presented it to Deb Durand of ACED.
